Enviroschools

Moriah Kindergarten is a Green Gold Award winning Enviroschool

What is an Enviroschool?

Enviroschools is a nationwide programme where Early childhood centres and schools commit to a long-term sustainability journey, guided by the following five key principles.

Learning for Sustainability

The Enviroschools kaupapa is about creating a healthy, peaceful, sustainable world through learning and taking

action together.

Empowered Students

Through learning experiences that enable our tamariki to connect with and explore the environment, they are empowered to take action in their local places and with their communities.

Respect for the Diversity of People and Cultures

Through embracing cultural diversity we acknowledge the special contributions and perspectives that individuals and groups bring to our learning environmental and community.

Sustainable Communities

We learn how to nurture people and nature, now and in the future. We are committed to a whole centre approach as our programme grows and develops.

Māori perspectives

The Enviroschools programme is Is grounded in Māori perspectives. We honour and value indigenous knowledge in enriching and guiding learning and action.
